GST Council Meet: Fin Minister takes stock of arrangements at SKICC

Srinagar/May,17:Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu Wednesday visited SKICC here to personally take stock of the arrangements made for the 14th GST Council Meeting. He was accompanied Commissioner Secretary Finance,  Navin Kumar Choudhary, Director Information, Dr Arun Kumar Manhas and other senior officers of the Finance, Information and other concerned Departments.
The Finance Minister enquired from the SKICC management and the other concerned regarding the arrangements made at the venue for the smooth conduct of the grand event.
Dr Drabu also visited the Media Centre established by the Department of Information and Public Relations at the Centaur Lake View Hotel to take stock of the arrangements made for the media-persons there.
He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made at both the venues and gave some valuable suggestions on how to improvise the arrangements.
Pertinently, the GST panel headed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is meeting here to take a final call on the new taxation regime and finalize the rates of different commodities and services.
Around 150 dignitaries including Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries of all the states will be attending the crucial meeting in Srinagar where the GST will be finally rolled out.
Besides around 200 media-persons are specially arriving in Srinagar to cover the mega event.
