BUDGAM, MAY 16: The District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf, today convened a meeting of officers to review and finalize the arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramzan in the district.
In order to provide basic necessities to the general public during the holy month, the DDC directed department of PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the month, particularly during Iftar and Sehri times.
The DDC said that PHE department should make pro-active arrangements for hassle free supply of drinking water in all areas of the district. Similarly, he directed the department of FCS&CA to ensure adequate supply of essentials. The DDC said that in order to stop illegal profiteering, hoarding of essentials in the market by miscreants, special squads would be constituted.
Later, the DDC took stock of the anti polythene drive initiated by the Department of Rural Development and Urban Development in Budgam. In this connection, he urged upon the concerned agencies, particularly BDO’s of concerned areas that in additional to the anti polythene drive they should also aware people about its hazardous effects on the environment. He said along with general public, students shall also be involved to make this drive a success.
The meeting, among others, was attended by all concerned Xens, ACD Budgam, all BDO’s, Executive officers of municipal committees and other concerned.
