Srinagar/May,17: Clashes broke iut in Heff Shurmal area in Shopian district in South Kashmur immediately after government forces cordoned off the area early Wednesday morning.
As the forces laid a siege, scores of people started raising pro-freedom slogans and hurled rocks on them to disrupt the operation. The forces retaliated by lobbing teargas shells.
Sources said that the operation was launched after inputs about the presence of militants.Clashes were going on till the time this report was posted.
