Geelani concerned about Aasiya’s health

Srinagar/May,13: Syed Ali Geelani, on Saturday expressed his deep concern over continuous and illegal detention of Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mohammad Rustum Bhat. Demanding their immediate release, Syed Ali Geelani said that Syeda Aasiya Andrabi is suffering from multiple ailments and doctors attending Mohammad Rustum Bhat have suggested immediate surgery.
Geelani strongly criticizing PDP led coalition administration, said that prisoners are subjected to vengeance and no proper treatment is provided to them. Referring to DEM chairperson, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi & her personal secretary, Sofi Fahmeeda, Syed Ali Geelani said that their detention is unjustified and are lodged in solitary confinement in police station Rambagh.
Syeda Aasiya Andrabi is suffering from acute respiratory ailment and the health has deteriorated to a large extent in the police station. She is critical and keeping her in continuous detention may further deteriorate her health, said Geelani.
Geelani expressed his serious concern over deteriorating condition of ailing THK leader, Mohammad Rustum Bhat and in his appeal to human rights organization urged to use their influence for his release.
Hurriyat said that Mohammad Rustum Bhat after medical checkup by doctors at SMHS hospital suggested him immediate surgery, however neither he is being released nor provided with necessary medical facility.
The statement said that ailing leader is suffering from blood pressure, diabetes, prostatitis and gallbladder infection and as per expert medical advice needs immediate surgery or his condition may go from bad to worse.
Geelani warned state authorities and said that it is political vendetta against detainees and they must know that any such eventuality will have dangerous consequences.
Syed Ali Geelani appealed organization for human rights to take serious cognizance of the plight of those lodged in different jails and impressed to use their influence for their unconditional and immediate release.
