Yashwant Sinha the top BJP leader and former foreign minister denied recognition by Modi led BJP government at the centre is now surprisingly getting encouragement from the top opposition leaders including the likes of Sitaram Yechury and Sharad Yadav who have openly lent support to Sinha’s proposed conclave on the current Kashmir crisis. Interestingly the support of the opposition parties in Delhi to Sinha’s proposed conclave on Kashmir crisis has come after meetings of newly elected Member Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah a three time former Jammu & Kashmir. By all standards of understandabilities the Sinha’s proposed conclave on current crisis in Kashmir would generate a public opinion about the importance of political engagement in Jammu & Kashmir. Since the categorical denials of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh , BJP Chief Amit Shah and All India BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav on consistent demands of  engagement with people who are not loyal to India and don’t believe in the Indian constitution have triggered an atmosphere of political provocation in Jammu & Kashmir, the support of opposition parties to Sinha’s conclave on Kashmir in Delhi is encouraging for peace makers in Jammu & Kashmir.  Active participation of the top opposition leaders in the conclave on Kashmir being organized by Sinha led group of concerned citizens of India will surely sent out a message of peace and reconciliation to joint separatist leadership in Jammu & Kashmir spearheading the current phase of resistance leaders in the state. By having such an event that would attract the attention of international media , the atmosphere of hostility created by the Modi government in Delhi will be neutralized by the opposition keen to find an issue of national importance for challenging the BJP’s political polarization ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.  With veteran leftist Sitaram Yechury saying “Our attempt will be to make an all-party kind of gathering. We all should take initiative to solve problem of Kashmir.

By supporting Sinha’s proposed conclave on Kashmir in Delhi the top opposition leaders have shown Modi government the way to start a process of political outreach in Jammu & Kashmir.

We are inviting all experts and members of different delegations which have visited Kashmir. We are exploring the possibility of inviting some political leaders and experts from Kashmir,” the top opposition leaders are all set to question Modi’s policy on Kashmir and engagement with Pakistan. This conference seems an attempt to expose the Modi government’s failures on handling unrest in Kashmir and border skirmishes on forward posts in Kashmir, Jammu and Ladhak divisions of Jammu & Kashmir state. After the failure of the Vajpayee-Musharaff summit at Agra, Kashmir crisis is getting an attention after a long gape of more than ten years. By supporting Sinha’s proposed conclave on Kashmir in Delhi the top opposition leaders have shown Modi government the way to start a process of political outreach in Jammu & Kashmir.
