DDC Ramban resolves issues of railway construction companies

Ramban/May,11: District Development  Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz Thursday chaired  a meeting of officials of Northern Railways, Revenue  and  representatives of  construction agencies to discuss the issues regarding construction of Railway tunnels and other works.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Angrez Singh Rana, SDMs Banihal and Gool, Deputy Chief Engineer Railway, Project Director Railway, AGM Ircon, DGM Ircon and other officers.

In view of the importance of prestigious Katra to Banihal Railway project falling in district Ramban, the DDC assured the construction companies   that administration would help them in removing bottlenecks at construction sites of Sangaldan, Khari and Banihal.

The meeting discussed the  issues related to Tunnel T 77D in village Bankoot, T74 North Tunnel at village Amkoot, land acquisition for muck dumping yards and other construction purposes besides forest clearance issues.

The DDC also took stock of the damages caused to houses due to construction of railway tunnel and land acquisition for developing suitable environment for construction work. Some confronting issues were also resolved on the spot.

Threadbare discussion was held with heads of executing agencies of Railways project regarding the issues of local public. The DDC asked them to take the locals into confidence by resolving their issues amicably.

SDM Banihal was directed to conduct a joint visit with Railway authorities to Bankoot area for resolving the issues amicably by holding discussion with locals as per decision which was taken in the meeting. Railway authorities from Northern Railway were directed to expedite the issues pending at their level including authentication of revenue papers.
