New Delhi, May 10: Former president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vishnu Hari Dalmia, has opposed the proposal of starting fresh negotiations with Muslims over the Ayodhya issue and urged the Government to take action as per the affidavit filed in the Supreme Court.
Mr Dalmia, while claiming that the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court in its judgement had made it amply clear after full investigation that a temple already existed there, said Muslim leaders had at one time agreed that they would withdraw their claim to the Ayodhya property if it was proved that the Babri Masjid was constructed after demolishing a temple.
‘This commitment of Muslims is also contained in the White Paper issued by the then Government.
So where is the need now to start fresh negotiations with them? ‘ Mr Dalmia said in a statement here.
Now the Supreme Court has only to remove the wrong which the High Court had done by allocating the land there to three parties, which was not the issue before them, the former VHP president said.
