Jammu/May,8: Divisional Commissioner Dr Mandeep Bhandari Monday convened a meeting to discuss the progress of various Railway projects in Jammu division.
Threadbare discussion was held on issues related to augmentation and redevelopment of Jammu Tawi and Udhampur Stations to international standards. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner of both these districts were asked to resolve land related issues at an earliest.
The Divisional Commissioner also discussed the issue of transmission line for railway traction for railway station.
Representatives of Central Organization for Railway Electrification (CORE), Indian Railway informed the chair that 90 percent work of Transmission line from Grid Station Samba to Railway Traction sub- station Samba has been completed with the erection of 35 towers and completion of 70 percent stringing of conductor.
The Divisional Commissioner was informed that the work is expected to be completed by end of this month.
Discussions were also held regarding railway line in Katra Banihal section of USRBL and tunnel construction works.
Various others related issues were also discussed in the meeting and Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned agencies to work in tandem to resolve the bottlenecks if any so that projects are completed within stipulated timeframe.
