Construction work of railway line to proceed uninterrupted: MoS Finance

Reasi/May,8: Highlighting the importance of ongoing prestigious development projects of railways in the district, Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda Monday said each necessary help would be provided to the construction companies in the district.

The Minister was chairing a meeting of district administration, companies, engineers and other concerned to discuss and resolve some issues and impending bottlenecks.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Babu Ram, ACR Abdul Satar, Projectors managers of various companies, engineers, tehsildars and other officers were also present in the meeting.

Underscoring the need for early completion of development projects, the Minister said such projects owe immense value for general public from economic and tourism point of view. He said with completion of projects tourist footfall in the area would be increased manifold.

The Minister took up for discussion numerous issues of construction work, dumping of mulba, improvement of affected link roads, restoration of water canals, protection walls, conservation and management of water resources near tunnel sites.

It was emphasized in the meeting that engineers would prepare comprehensive and detailed plan for conservation and storage of water flowing out from tunnels for pubic supply and for irrigation purpose besides restoring damaged water canals at Kotli, Bagga and Khani Dhanour areas at an earliest.

The Minister also instructed the companies to ensure water supply in sersundwan areas where water resources were affected by construction work and people have its acute shortage.

For blacktopping of small roads at Gran more, Serla and other areas, the Minister instructed the companies to take up all these roads on the lines of some taken up from Salal tunnel to Bakkal and Kanthan to Judda so that public transport would not suffer.

The Minister stressed upon the project managers to dump the mulba at only designated locations and protect the dumping sites with concrete walls and ensure plantation particularly at Anji Nallas and other areas.

Deputy Commissioner also suggested some basic measures to the companies to be adopted for proper development of the areas side by side construction works in the district.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Dubey, Raju, Sheel from public side raised some burning issues of their areas.
