The NC Core Group while expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation also expressed disappointment at the complete failure of the State Government both in terms of governance and to create a suitable peaceful environment as evidenced by the cancellation of the Anantnag by-poll as also rising incidents of violence and turmoil in the State.
The Core Group also expressed disappointment over the unwillingness of the Government of India to recognize the political nature of the problem which has compounded the situation in the Valley and added to the already serious level of alienation.
Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in recent incidents of violence in the Valley, the Core Group expressed solidarity with bereaved families and extended the party’s condolences to them.
The Core Group meeting that was chaired by the Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah was attended by NC Working President Omar Abdullah, General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, senior leaders Mohammad Shafi Uri, Abdul Rahim Rather, Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mubarak Gul, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Sakina Ittoo, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo and Javed Rana.
Meanwhile, National Conference expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of lives at Malpora, Kulgam on Saturday and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
Extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the slain policeman and the two civilians who lost their lives, Senior National Conference Leader and Party’s South Zone President Sakina Ittoo said the party stood with the families of the victims in this moment of loss and grief.
“The mounting human toll of the deteriorating situation in the Valley is painful. The failure of both the State and the Central Government to acknowledge the gravity of the situation is alarming”, Sakina Ittoo said.
NC District President Kulgam and MLA Homshalibug Abdul Majeed Larmi and NC Provincial Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and extended their condolences to the bereaved families. (KNS)
