Srinagar/May 06: Three dead bodied, including that of a 20-year-old girl, were fished out from waterbodies at separate places in Kashmir valley Saturday.
Official sources said panic gripped Kangan in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal when some locals saw body of a girl floating in a power canal.
The locals immediately informed the police, they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
The deceased was later identified Shazia Banoo, who went missing from her residence at Druga Tung in Ganderbal on April 16. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her relatives for last rites.
Earlier in the day, body of one Fateh Ullah Najar was recovered from river Jhelum at Lethpora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives after completing all the legal and medical formalities.
In another incident, a body of an unidentified person was fished out from Jhelum at Chechkote in Pulwama. The identity of the deceased is being asserted, they said
Police have registered cases in all the three incidents and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstances in which both the persons died, they added.
