Srinagar/May,6: Several students, including girls, were injured during protests in Handwara area of frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
Witnesses said that students of Degree College Handwara and Higher Secondary school Handwara staged protests against the April 15 crackdown on a college in Pulwama and the arrests of students in subsequent protests.
Police used tear gas to disperse the students who were trying to march inti the streets, triggering clashes.
Shopkeepers lowered their shutters following the clashes which were going on outside the Degree College and the main chowk areas.
