Jammu/May,4: Divisional Commissioner, M.K. Bhandari Friday convened a meeting of senior officers of various departments to review the progress of various mega projects under implementation in Jammu Division.
Divisional Commissioner said the aim of Friday’s meeting was to review implementation of various dimensions of mega projects for timely redressal of bottlenecks and obstacles that crop up during the course of project implementation which can cause avoidable delays in project completion.
The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu, S.D. Singh Jamwal, Commissioner JMC, Manmohan Singh, VC JDA, R.K. Shavan, Chief Engineer EM & RE, Project Director Jammu, National Highway Authority of India besides other senior concerned officers.
The projects reviewed in the meeting included expansion/ extension of the runway of the Jammu Airport, multi-tier parking cum commercial complex at Bus stand, development of Tawi River Front, construction of Tawi Barrage (artificial lake), sewerage projects for Jammu city, parking at City Chowk, Jammu Ring road under PMDP, augmentation of water supply to Jammu city from River Chenab, construction of Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Park, restoration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and Jammu ropeway project.
Divisional Commissioner directed the executing agencies to expedite pace of work on respective projects for their completion in stipulated time. He advised the executing agencies to keep focused attention on their respective projects that are at different stages of completion to ensure quality in execution for early completion of pending works.
