New Delhi, May 2: Finance Minister and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst national outrage over the mutilation of bodies of two Indian soldiers in the Krishna Ghati Sector in the northern sector.
Though officials said it was a pre-arranged meeting relating to some financial matters, it was understood that Mr Jaitley apprised the Prime Minister of the latest developments on the border.
According to an Army statement, the Pakistan army carried out “unprovoked rocket and mortar firing on two forward posts on the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector.
The martyred soldiers — an Army jawan and a constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) — were part of a patrol team between two forward posts along the LoC.
‘ The Army said Pak Army’s Border Action Team (BAT) launched the attack on the patrol and the bodies of two soldiers in the patrol were mutilated.
