Jammu/May,2: Joint Controller Legal Metrology Jammu V. S Sambyal Tuesday reviewed departmental activities with regard to revenue realisation.
The Jt. Controller was informed that in the by ending financial year the department collected a revenue of Rs. 1.27 Cr. on account of standardization of Weighing and Measuring instruments used by trading class.
In addition to revenue collection departmental officials conducted 21,293 inspections of different trading establishments thereby booking 3910 erring trading establishments for violating Weights and Measures laws and rules. A plenty of Rs 15.32 lakh was recovered from defaulters.
The Jt. Controller appealed the trading community to adhere to laws and rules in their interest and provide visiting consumers best products /services.
