Dy CM calls for better healthcare in rural hospitals at Rogi Kalyan Samiti meet in Billawar

Kathua/May,2:  Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh Tuesday stressed on the need for improvement of healthcare in rural hospitals by consolidation of infrastructure and medical staff.

“These hospitals are established to provide healthcare to rural population at their doorsteps but without proper infrastructure and medical staff these institutes cannot serve the desired purpose” Deputy CM asserted.

Dr Nirmal Singh was chairing a meeting of the Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti   at Dinga Amb Rest House of Tehsil Billawar.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kathua, Dr. R K Sangra; BMO Hiranagar, Dr Onkar Nath, SSP Kathua, BDO Dinga Amb and AEEs besides members of Rogi Kalyan Samiti.

The Dy CM reviewed the functioning of PHC Dinga Amb and New Type PHC Bhaiya. He also took stock of the staff position and health infrastructure. He reviewed annual performance of the PHCs and asked the concerned authorities to put in their sincere and dedicated efforts to provide best medicare to the patients.

Various issues were discussed in the meeting especially upgrading of the infrastructure to make available diagnostic and other vital facilities in the twin health institutes.

The Chief Minister directed the Medical staff to treat patients with utmost care and missionary zeal.

The members of the Samiti gave valuable suggestions for improving the functioning of the medical institutions.

Dy CM laid stress on maintaining cleanliness in the hospital premises and proposal disposal of bio-medical waste. He stressed on punctuality of medical staff for improving the patient care in the hospitals.

Dr Nirmal Singh also visited PHC Dinga Amb and inspected the renovation works. He asked executing agencies to fix priorities of repair and other construction works of the PHC. Underlining the importance of PHC Dinga Amb, DyCM said this health institute caters to the needs of a large population coming from far off places, round the clock.

“This health institution needs to be developed/upgraded with latest infrastructural facilities” he stressed. He also went around various wards of the PHC and interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them.

Later, the DyCM also listened to the problems of people at a Public Grievance Redressal Camp. He assured them of all the possible help to solve their problem at the earliest. He also reviewed development works initiated under CDF scheme and also took stock of progress made under MGNREGA and other Rural Development works.

Threadbare discussions were also held to improve the PHE infra at village Khairi so that people can have sufficient drinking water during peak summer season.
