Jammu/April,29: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri Saturday stressed on framing of timeline for disposal of revenue matters.

The Minister was addressing the officials at a Revenue Conference here.  The conference was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Additional Commissioner, Sunita Anand, Deputy Commissioners and Tehsildars of Jammu division.

Veeri impressed upon the officers to seek periodical reports from field officials on timely land mutations in their respective areas.

“Land mutations should not be a cumbersome process for public. Revenue officials should facilitate the process effectively while Deputy Commissioners and SDMs should take periodical review of land mutation process in their respective areas to avoid unnecessary pendency of cases at any level,” he said.

For better revenue management, the Minister directed for completion of Jamabandi within one month by Naib Tehsildars.

He said it is imperative that revenue officials work with responsibility to live up to the expectations of common people.

The Minister directed revenue officials to follow the norms under Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) in issuance of certificates and documents including Reserve Category Certificate, Dependent Certificate, Income Certificate, Fard Intikhab, Extract of Girdawari, Extract of Massavi, Extract of Jamabandi, Attestation of Mutation, Marriage certificate and other documents.

The Minister asked district administration to enhance public par taking by setting up various citizen councils for revamping public services delivery system.

The conference also observed one minute silence to mourn the death of Tehsildar Ghulam Nabi Malik of Chiralla Doda.
