New Delhi/April,28: Vice Chairman, J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (JKKVIB), Peerzada Mansoor Hussain Suharwardy, and Director Industries & Commerce (I&C), Kashmir, Nazim Zia Khan, Friday attended a day-long meeting of Ministers/Secretaries of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) from all States and Union Territories at National Small Industries Corporation complex in New Delhi.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Union Minister for MSME, Kalraj Mishra, with other dignitaries including the Union Minister of State for MSME, Chairman KVIC, Secretary MSME GoI and other senior officers of MSME GoI attending the meeting.

While deliberating on various MSME related schemes in Jammu & Kashmir, the VC JKKVIB suggested that the GoI should re-constitute the DLTFC giving powers to the KVIB and the KVIC and not be dependent only on the availability of District Development Commissioners.

He also raised the issue of creation of more Help Desks for PMEGP and other MSME related schemes in all districts and also requested the GoI for intervention in development of woollen products in the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

The Union Minister for MSME said he noted all the points raised and assured that these will be looked into on priority.

Earlier, the Director I&C Kashmir apprised the authorities about the schemes and developments of the Industries & Commerce in Jammu & Kashmir.
