Srinagar/April,28: Security forces burst teargas shells to disperse protestors after Friday prayers at Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
The trouble started immediately after Friday prayers were over in Jamia masjid in Sopore, where hundreds of protestors took to streets outside the mosque against the killing of a civilian in security force firing yesterday in north Kashmir district of Kupwara.
However, when the protestors tried to march towards main chowk, security forces deployed in the area swung into action and stopped the demonstrators from moving ahead.
As the protestors didn’t back down, security forces burst teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators, who were regrouping and pelting stones.
The clashes between security forces and demonstrators spread to nearby area in Sopore, where shopkeepers downed shutters and traffic was off the roads due to chaos.
