Srinagar/April,28: Army on Friday intensified the cordon and search operation around six villages in frontier district Kupwara district to track down the third militant believed to be involved in yesterday’s attack on army camp in Panzgam.
Locals said that curfew-like situation continues in Panzgam and adjoining villages of Batpora, Kralpora, Kralpora, Manzgam, Rawatpora and Aloosa where army is carrying out intensive searches. They said that people have been asked to stay indoors.
Sources said that the militant who escaped from the Panzgam army camp in “injured condition” might be hiding in the nearby forests. Three army men, including a captain, were killed and five injured in the yesterday’s attack. Two attackers were also killed in the retaliatory fire while a third militant is believed to have escaped after the attack.
