Srinagar/April,27: A day after militant outfit Lashkar Toiba claimed that All Jammu and Kashmir Students Union (AJKSU) is run by People’s Democratic Party, the AJKSU Thursday clarified that it has no connection with any political party.
In a statement issued here on Thursday the president AJKSU Syed Tajamul Imran said that meeting civil society members or political leaders with regard to student related issues doesn’t meant the Union has something to do with any political party.
“AJKSU members have met people from different background, like mainstream, off stream or civil society, to discuss student related issues like scholarship problems, harassment etc and we do not think that is logical to relate us with any party,” he said adding that those who defamed the Union got nothing.
“Without conducting basic research on ground level about our background and other things, the statement against us should not have been issued; we firmly believe the sources consulted have misinformed the outfit. This has not only affected our studies but has put our lives in danger; we are living fearfully and our families are worried,” he said.
