One Day Workshop on DBT of Fertilizer Subsidy held

Jammu/April,22: One Day Workshop on DBT of Fertilizer Subsidy for the wholesale dealers organized by Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu was inaugurated by H. K. Razdan, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), Jammu here Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion  Razdan said the purpose of the workshop is to sensitize the wholesale dealers regarding implementation and execution of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of Fertilizer Subsidy as per the guidelines of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, GOI from June 2017. He said digitization and the use of POS Machines will facilitate the proper data management and prompt flow of fertilizer stock/sale information between manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and the farmers. He further said this system will be helpful in checking the excessive and indiscriminate use of fertilizers in agriculture crops and misuse of fertilizer subsidy in other activities as well.

Sudhir Ambardar, Divisional Manager, IT, National Fertilizer Limited (NFL) Chandigarh in his technical lectures deliberated in detail on aims and scope of implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme in case of fertilizer subsidy. He said POS Machines will be provided to the fertilizer retailers possessing valid sale licenses and aadhar cards. He also demonstrated the working of the POS Machines through PowerPoint presentation and through practical demonstration. He also replied to the various technical and practical difficulties of the wholesale and retail dealers while implementing and shifting to the new system.

Koul, SMS, RL, Deepak Kuchroo, DSSO, Jammu, representatives of fertilizer supplying companies NFL, IFFCO, CFCL, IPL, wholesale dealers of Jammu Division besides others officers of the department also attended the workshop.

The proceedings of the training and vote of thanks were presented by O. K. Koul, State Manager, National Fertilizer Limited, Jammu.
