Katra/April,22: As part of Swachhta initiative, Union Minister for Rural Development, Panchyati Raj, Drinking Water and Sanitation Narendra Singh Tomar Tuesday inaugurated water ATMs at Katra.
Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda, Union Secretary Drinking Water and Sanitation Parameswaran Iyer, Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Hardesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, other senior officers, tourists and local people were present on the occasion.
The water ATMs were installed one each at Fountain Chowk and the other opposite Yatra Registration Counter near Bus Stand Katra with a view to provide RO water to the pilgrims and public at large.
It was disclosed on the occasion that these ATMs have been equipped with dual media filter, activated carbon filter, anticline filter, RO membrane, pre-correction and UV sterilization to provide seven stage purified, pure and cold RO water.
Further, it was informed that a total of six Water ATMs are being installed in the Katra town for facilitation of the people, visitors and tourists.
