Jammu/April,22: Traffic Police seized 25 matadors/mini buses under section 207 of Motor Vehicle Act during a special drive launched under the supervision of SSP Traffic City Jammu, Addl. SP Traffic City Jammu, DYSP Traffic City South / North Jammu to check the menace of traffic violations by matadors and mini buses and to ascertain whether the drivers are in possession of valid driving license/other related documents.
The department has enjoined upon all transporters and commuters to strictly follow the Traffic Rules and said any violations will be dealt strictly. The department has further sought public cooperation in adherence of traffic rules for smooth regulation of traffic.
With such drives in future, the department intends to curb menace created by matadors/minibuses while plying on the roads by ensuring pick and drop service practiced only at identified/ designated Matador stops/ stands.
