Srinagar, Apr 23: Warning of direct consequences if government fails to act against cow vigilantes, MLA Langate Er Rasheed has sought stern action against the goons who attacked a nomad family in Reasi.
In a statement issued to KNS, while reacting sharply to the incident Er Rasheed said “The so called Gau Rakshaks are absolutely inhuman and are bringing a very bad name to Hindu religion itself. There can be no other worst form of terrorism than what these goons have been doing. It is strange that those claiming to have patent rights of defending Hinduism love cows but kill humans in the name of protecting cows and didn’t spare even nine year old girl in Talvara. May these sick minded radicals answer, do lakhs of cows not die every year and are leather goods not manufactured in India out of cow skin. If banning cow slaughtering is so needed, why doesn’t BJP dare to do it Goa, Assam, Manipur and other northeast states.”
Er Rasheed reminded those attacking Muslims especially in Jammu provenance not to forget that J&K is a heavily Muslim dominated state. He added “People in this part of sub-continent don’t need permission from anyone to have cow slaughtering or eat what they wish. These criminal minded goons must understand that they cannot always run away by getting shelter from administration controlled by Sang-Parivar. It is painful that J&K police has given these goons total free hand and SSP Reasi is not only busy in downplaying the incident but for the reason, he being a Muslim, is trying to prove himself more loyal than the king. Not only SSP Reasi but many other police officers belonging to Muslim community and posted in Jammu province are being used to crush the rights of Muslims in Jammu province. It is painful that police” Er Rasheed asked government to either protect the rights of Jammu Muslims or be ready to face the consequences.
He warned there can be very sharp and strong reaction, one way or the other in Kashmir against what is happening with Muslims in Jammu province.
