Jammu/April,22: National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Saturday expressed concern over attempts being made by the ruling PDP and BJP to bring people of the Jammu and Kashmir regions in an eyeball to eyeball situation by systematically polarizing the situation.
“The diverse narrative of the two coalition partners has hugely made the already volatile situation complex and complicated”, Mr Rana said and suspected a deep rooted conspiracy in pushing the state to disaster and devastation.
Mr Rana was speaking at a function held to welcome several political activists of Kathua into National Conference.
He said the divisive narrative of the BJP cannot be brushed aside or wrapped under the carpet in view of its dangerous connotations, which may be part of the sinister larger agenda of trifurcating the state. He said the recent intriguing developments; especially the irresponsible statements by those in the government should not be seen in isolation. “These seem to be part of a larger conspiracy”, he said.
Referring to the recent statement of Union Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh, claiming with confidence, to bring transformation in Jammu and Kashmir within a year without spelling the contours, Mr Rana said instead of witnessing any improvement, the Valley is burning and Jammu is simmering.  He wondered as to what was the version of transformation that the Union Home Minister is envisaging for the state and what was the road map.
Mr Rana said the situation in Kashmir is quite grave and a cause of concern for all. “Those trying to justify every measure by pretending to be nationalists are doing disservice to the country”, he said and lambasted the self-styled protagonists of nationalism. He cautioned them against dangerous misadventure, saying they were playing with fire, which may not only consume the state but also engulf the entire nation.
Dwelling upon the fast deteriorating situation across the state, the Provincial President asked all right thinking people to put their heads together read the writing on the wall and close their ranks for meeting the big challenge posed by the insensitive and anti-people coalition. “Youngsters have to play a big role in this regard”, he added.
