Srinagar/ April, 17: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Wednesday convened a meeting to review the progress on expansion of Jhelum flood spill channel work and land acquisition cases.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Collector Land Acquisition Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC), Assistant Commissioner and other concerned attended the meeting, while as Deputy Commissioners of Budgam and Bandipora participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The meeting was told that the work on flood spill channel is being undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 399.29 crore and passes through districts of Srinagar, Budgam and Bandipora from Bemina to Naidkhai via Khushipora involving 1759 kanals of land.
The Divisional Commissioner was briefed in detail about issues creating hiccups in smooth execution of work on the project. He directed the concerned to resolve the issues at the earliest and expedite work on the vital project.
He directed the concerned to send documents pertaining to land acquisition to the Collector Land Acquisition Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) within a week and directed him to disburse the compensation to owners within 3 days.
