Srinagar/ April, 17: A day-long counseling-cum-mentoring session for students appearing in the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-2017 was organized by Department of Libraries and Research here Monday.

The session was addressed by Vivek Gupta from IIT Bombay, who shared various tips and tricks on successfully preparing and cracking competitive examinations.

He mentored the aspirants on study disciplines, techniques, and reference material available to prepare for upcoming NEET 2017.

The Department had organised a similar mentoring session in Jammu Sunday.

On the occasion, Director Libraries and Research, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz, said such initiatives would help students to prepare in a better and focused manner.

He said the department in collaboration with PLANCESS EDU Solutions has developed composite study material for students to prepare for NEET with an elaborate array of references in print and digital formats including e-books and reference videos.

He said IT-enabled learning material has been made available free of cost in the government libraries across the state to assist students in their preparations for NEET, JEE, CET and other competitive examinations.

Pertinently, the Department of Libraries and Research has, in a maiden effort, this year launched one of the biggest e-coaching and e-learning initiatives in J&K to provide quality coaching and comprehensive solutions free to the students aspiring to appear in NEET, JEE and CET.

Under the initiative, IT-enabled learning material, including video lectures, e-books and written notes have been made available free of cost in the government libraries across the state to facilitate students to prepare for NEET, JEE, CET and other competitive examinations. Nearly 2,500 plus hours of video lectures, 75,000 questions with answers, 150 e-books and hard books are being made available to the students in the public libraries across the State.
