Suchetgarh/ April,15: Continuing his streak of holding public grievance redress camps at regular intervals, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary Saturday listened to the grievances and concerns of the common masses during a public meeting at Suchetgarh.
The people hailing from Shera Chak, Chawalla, Bega Bera, Sai, Bura Chak, Mulla Chak, Derrian, Langarwali and other adjoining villages apprised the Minister about the problems being faced by them related to ration distribution, power supply, road connectivity, education, healthcare, sanitation and telecom.
The villagers demanded upgradation of transformers, replacement of electric poles, LT and HT wires, blacktopping of roads and construction of lanes and drains.
After hearing their demands and grievances, the Minister saidsteps are being taken to upgrade the transformers and repairing the old ones, wherever required. He further saidthe efforts are being made to provide uninterrupted electricity supply in the villages during the ensuing summer season.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister informed that water was released in Main Ranbir Canal, New Pratap Canal and Tawi Canal after conducting proper desilting works in all these canals. He asked the villagers not to waste the water provided to them for irrigation purposes as the same reaches their fields after strenuous efforts put in by the department.
He further asked them to come forward and take maximum benefit of the state and centrally sponsored schemes including Laadli Beti, State Marriage Assistance Scheme, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY), MGNREGA and other welfare schemes.
