Srinagar Apr 16:: Reacting to the beating of College Students of Govt Degree College Pulwama by forces yesterday, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir while condemning the unfortunate incident in which 55 students were injured, blamed the Mehbooba Mufti Led Govt for failing to ensure security even inside the colleges and Schools.
He also castigated Chief Minister, who is also head of Unified Command, for remaining as mute spectator to the incident of brutalities.
Describing the action by Forces as unfortunate, Mir expressed serious concern saying that Forces should not have entered into college premises to beat the students. “What message they (Forces) wanted to convey to the people. Such type of action by police or security forces were responsible for the deteriorating situation, for the fact, it gives rise to the anger among the people, as a result, the situation continues to deteriorate in South Kashmir and elsewhere in the valley,” he said.
Urging people especially youth to maintain calm, Mir said that violence cannot be solution to any problem, as everything can be settled through peaceful means.
He lashed out at PDP led dispensation for failing to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the valley especially in South Kashmir and blamed it for the restlessness and insecurity among the people.
PCC President also condemned the Killing of Bashir Ahmad of Qasbayar Pulwama by unidentified gun and termed the incident of killing and kidnapping as highly condemnable.
He also condemned the killing of Sajad Hussain Shiekh, who was reportedly shot dead by BSF yesterday evening in Batmaloo Area, saying that loss of lives can never be replaced by anything.
Mir said ruling dispensation seems to be in a moribund condition, not even able to say anything on innocent killings, he added.
He said the killing in any form is highly condemnable and must be condemned at all levels. (KNS)
