Threatening journos for reporting truth is highly condemnable: PCC Spokesperson

Srinagar/ April,14: Strongly condemning threatening of Journalist Qayoom Khan Stringer CNN News 18, for reporting truth during repolling in Budgam by PDP Leaders and their aides, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Spokesperson expressed surprise over the way PDP leaders are behaving with journos, saying that Journalists perform their duties in a difficult situations and giving them life threats is a serious thing.
Condemning PDP leaders for threatening Khan, the spokesperson in a statement said this party (PDP) has crossed all limits of suppression, now it has started suppressing Media Fraternity for reporting truth, which is undemocratic and unethical.
Asserting that PDP was desperate enough about the poll outcome, the Spokesperson has lashed out at ruling PDP men for threatening journo during repolling, which is indicative of frustration and it shows how PDP treats Media fraternity.
Stating that PDP leaders are acting like dictators, the Spokesperson warned that such type of attitude and mindset of so called leaders of PDP will be treated as an attack on the freedom of the press, which is very unfortunate and highly condemnable. He asked PDP to apologize for threatening Qayoom Khan.
The spokesperson urged upon the Director General of Police to take cognizance of the matter and ensure safety of the journo, as he has received life threatening from PDP leaders for reporting truth.
