Jammu/April,8: A delegation of Association of Tourism Facilitators (AOTF) Wednesday called on Minister of State for Tourism Priya Sethi and felicitated the Minister for re-introducing Jammu Mahotsav 2017 – a celebration of cultural diversity in the state.
The delegation congratulated the Minister and the Tourism Department for successful cultural carnival as part of the Jammu Mahotsav 2017 that showcased rich heritage of Jammu and included tableau of Mubarakh Mandi, Bahu Fort besides showcasing cultural diversity of region and particularly for giving due representation to the Balidan Stambh for first time.
The Association urged the Minister to bring Balidan Stambh which is a unique memorial in country documenting over 5000 martyrs who have laid down their lives for nation on the soil of Jammu and Kashmir between 1947 and 1999, under the ambit of tourism department.
Delegation further said respecting the sanctity of Balidan Stambh, it should be promoted as symbol of sacrifice and government should facilitate hassle free visit of people to this historical monument.
Appreciating efforts of delegation, the Minister assured all required help from the government to promote Jammu as an independent tourist destination.

Earlier a memento was presented to the Minister as token of respect and in appreciation of her dedicated efforts towards sustainable tourism promotion.
