Jaitley to release Gender Parity Index at FICCI ladies meet on April 14

New Delhi, April 12: Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Corporate Affairs, Finance and Defence will release Gender Parity Index specific to India in the formal sector during the 33rd Annual Session of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) to be held here on April 14, 2017.
The main aim of developing Gender Parity Index commissioned jointly by FLO and FICCI is to evaluate gender diversity and empowerment of women in the formal sector and the progress made over the years.
“The Index will serve as framework for measuring gender parity and produce an overall score of an organisation and reflect it on the index,” said Vinita Bimbhet, President FICCI ladies Organisation (FLO).
Apart from releasing the gender Parity Index, Union Minister will also present the FLO Icon awards to Farah Khan, Director, Producer ,Actor & Choreographer; Shobhana Bhartia, Chairperson & Editorial Director Hindustan Times Group; Anita Dongre, Fashion, Designer & House of Anita Dongre; Renu Sud Karnad, Managing Director, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC); Dr Pratap C Reddy Founder, Chairman Apollo hospitals Enterprise Limited accompanied by his four daughters; and Mahavir Singh Phogat (the man who inspired the film “Dangal”, Olympic Coach, Indian Wrestler accompanied by his daughters –Phogat Sisters).
