JAMMU, APRIL 10: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said efforts are underway to ensure that the trade and economic activities in Jammu region get the necessary fillip resulting in creation of job more opportunities and uplift of the region’s socio-economic profile.
The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with a deputation of the Warehouse Traders Association who called on him today to apprize him of the problems being faced by them.
MLA East Mr Rajesh Gupta, Commissioner/Secretary Housing & Urban Development Mr Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Director Land Management, Jammu Development Authority and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister said the Warehouse is one of the main trading centres in the State and is the nerve centre of Jammu’s economic activities. He said it would soon be given a holistic makeover so that the problems and other related issues being faced by the trading community are redressed holistically.
“Augmentation of the already existing infra of the Warehouse would be done in order to provide the traders with all the modern facilities which would boost trading activities and also give flip to business in the area”, the Deputy Chief Minister said and maintained that the necessary instructions would also be given to the PDD to ensure that the area doesn’t face any inconvenience with regard to the electric supply.
Responding to other demands of the Association, the Deputy Chief Minister said a comprehensive plan would soon be formulated to cater to the provision of having extra godowns, 24X7 power supply, besides also looking into the issue of vesting ownership rights.
