Srinagar, Apr 10: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while paying tributes to the eight young boys Aqeel Ahmad Wani, Adil Farooq Sheikh, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Faizan Ahmad, Muhammad Abbas, Nisar Ahmad, Amir Bashir Malla and Umar Farooq killed by the forces on Sunday has said that India kills our youth for sport.
In a statement to KNS, Mirwaiz said that it looks very unlikely that any amount of condemnation of this inhuman approach of killing and maiming us is going to change the attitude of India. He said it is getting clear by the day that the current dispensation in New Delhi has decided to adopt a repressive military approach in dealing with the the political and human problem of Kashmir.
“We are under occupation and should expect no humanity from our occupiers. Local quisling aiding our genocide the PDP has lost all sense of shame and sensitivity to the pain, suffering and sacrifices of the people of Kashmir,” Mirwaiz said.
Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman said in this scenario of severe repression, the courage and resolve once again displayed by the people of Kashmir by rejecting the election drama and the absolutely clear message they send to the GOI and the world that their goal is the right to self-determination and nothing else, reassures that repression and killing cannot cow down a nation yearning for freedom even in the wake of such military oppression of a mighty country.
Saluting the resilience and steadfastness of the people especially the youth Mirwaiz said their Supreme sacrifices of life and limb deeply grieves us but further strengthens our commitment towards our mission as it gets engraved on our hearts and mind.
Mirwaiz said the whole valley has become a big jail manned by Indian forces and police where people and leadership are detained, caged, gagged and harassed and no space and scope is given to anyone by our oppressors to reach out, protest and mourn the murder of our teenagers and children. The only way for us to express our collective grief at their death and share the sorrow with the bereaved families is to observe shutdown and register our solidarity with the martyrs and the cause for which they were killed, Mirwaiz added.
