Srinagar/April,8: Terming deferment of Anantnag by-poll as surrender before commitment and resentment of masses AIP supremo and MLA Langate Engineer Rasheed has asked world community and opinion makers in India to adopt a realistic attitude towards Kashmir and fulfill their duty to resolve the long pending dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, for a durable peace in the sub-continent.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Engineer Rasheed said “while New Dehli by its own yardstick should confess the defeat, those suppressing voice of people at the barrel of gun and state terrorism should understand that neither economic packages nor threats and false propaganda can ever be an alternative to right to self determination. The lowest percentage of votes in Budgam district is not less than a slap on the faces of those who would often try to divide Kashmiris on sectarian and other lines. The blame game between home ministry and election commission has exposed the state apparatus and it is proven beyond doubt that state as usual had relied upon security agencies and oppressive measure to conduct the polls. World has now came to know that whatsoever has been happening in Kashmir is not only spontaneous, but those agents of New Delhi who were claiming that just five percent people are taking to roads, seeking right to self determination, were misleading world community, using biased ultra-nationalist TV channels as a propaganda platform against their own people.”
Engineer Rasheed asked NC and PDP not to indulge in the blame game for pity interests and added that they must collectively introspect. He said “situation has given them a chance to rectify their huge errors of past. Both NC and PDP must give up their agendas of so called autonomy and self rule and take a realistic stand by seeking right to self determination. Poll boycott and resistance to very conducting of these polls has proven that Kashmiri have not owned the double standards of so called main stream parties and it is not only the strongest historic merits and facts but the huge sacrifices which would never ever allow Kashmiris to compromise on Right to Self Determination, even if their leaders of whatsoever stream may betray or fail them or even become parts of hidden conspiracies.
