Srinagar/April,8: Troops gunned down four heavenly armed intruding militants in the frontier district of Kupwara early Monday morning, official sources said.
They said troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) noticed a group of militants infiltrating in to this side from Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) in Keran Sector early Monday morning under the cover of darkness.
However, when challenged and asked to surrender, militants opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons, they said adding troops also retaliated and in the encounter four militants were killed so for. The operation was still going on when the reports last came in, they said adding the further details are awaited.
