Srinagar, April 9: While expressing deep shock and sorrow over the killing of innocent civilians in Budgam on Sunday, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said time has come for the mainstream parties in the state to introspect.
In a press statement issued here, Hakim Yasin while condemning the killing of innocent civilians on polling day in Budgam said, “Even during 90’s when militancy was at its peak and elections were held, never ever such type of situation had happened. It is the right time for the secular forces in the state to introspect and see what has led to this situation where youth of Kashmir are out on roads on a rebellion.”
“Time has come for the mainstream parties to think about their role as current situation is alarming. There is need to see why the youth of Kashmir is so angry and alienated. But unfortunately instead of that, bullets are being showered on them which increases the alienation further. The credibility of institutions in the state is being eroded day by day by the current dispensation,” he said.
While expressing sympathies and heartfelt condolence with the families of the slain youths, the PDF chief said, “No words can heal the wounds of the families of the deceased as only they know how it means to lose the dear ones. I pray Almighty Allah to give strength to them to bear this irreparable loss.”
