New Delhi/April,8: Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Government of India, has suspended release of advertisements to 804 newspapers and periodicals across the country, including 15 publications from J&K, for their failure to submit regularity certificate.
“It has been found that 804 newspapers/journals empanelled with DAVP have not submitted monthly issues from October 2016 to February 2017 in PIB/DAVP offices as per DAVP database,” an order issued by DAVP on 6 April 2017, a copy of which has been sent to the Department of Information for circulation, reads.
The order states that as per Clause-13 of the DAVP Print Media Advertisement Policy-2016 pertaining to the ‘Regularity’ of the empanelled publications, it has been made mandatory for ‘all newspapers empanelled with DAVP’ to submit their copies to DAVP before 15th of the subsequent month failing which advertisements shall be stopped to such newspapers/periodicals.
“In this regard, advisories are issued by DAVP every month. Despite this, the monthly issues are not being submitted by some 804 publishers, across the country, to the designated offices,” it said adding; “Hence these publications are being suspended in accordance with clause 25(b) of the DAVP Print media Advertisement Policy- 2016.”
