Pulwama/April,8:  National Conference Working President Mr. Omar Abdullah on Saturday said the PDP-BJP Government brought nothing but misery and humiliation for Kashmir. Addressing an impressive joint convention of National Conference and Congress workers, supporters and various public delegations at National Conference Head Office in Pulwama, Mr. Omar Abdullah said National Conference and Congress had come together for these parliamentary by-polls with the common goal of thwarting the nefarious designs of the PDP-BJP alliance which is working under an elaborate plan crafted by the RSS to fragment and weaken the State from within.

The joint event was also addressed by Senior Congress Leader and Leader of the Opposition  in Rajya Sabha Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, PCC Chief and candidate for parliamentary elections Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Senior Congress Leader and Former Member of Parliament Mr. Tariq Hameed Karra, Senior Congress Leader and Former Minister Mr. Taj Mohiuddin, Senior Congress Leaders Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan, Mr. Usman Majid and Senior National Conference Leader and Former Member of Parliament Mr. G. N. Ratanpuri, Mr. Showkat Ganai, Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Rafi and NC District President Pulwama Mr. Ghulam Mohuiddin Mir (Murran) and was attended by senior functionaries and activists of both parties.

“Yesterday Prime Minister Modi called Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and asked her if she needed any assistance in dealing with the flood-like situation in the State. This is another opportunity where Mehbooba Mufti failed to speak up for the 2014 flood victims who are still awaiting relief and rehabilitation from this PDP-BJP Government. When the previous NC-Congress Government proposed a 44,000 crore relief package to the Central Government, it was this very PDP that said the amount of the package was not enough and that it would propose a better, bigger package. Till today we haven’t seen any sign of a relief and rehabilitation package from New Delhi and all Mehbooba Mufti is focused on is heaping praise on the Prime Minister and the BJP”, Mr. Omar Abdullah said while addressing the convention.

The National Conference Working President lashed out at the PDP-BJP Government for supervising the mass arrests, harassment and humiliation of youth across the Valley ever since it came into power. “Mehbooba Mufti not only watched in silence as our youth with blinded, maimed and gunned down but she stooped to the depths of shamelessness by ridiculing and mocking bereaved families by asking them if their dead children had gone to ‘buy milk and toffees’ and clearly suggesting that their children were to be blamed for their own tragic deaths”, Mr. Omar Abdullah said.

“This alliance has failed on all fronts – be it the failure of its hyped ‘agenda of the alliance’ or on the governance front. Every single promise made by the PDP-BJP Government has proven to be hollow and has been broken within the very first year of the PDP-BJP Alliance. Their government has failed to deliver even basic governance to the people and has plunged the State into disarray, chaos and unemployment. The youth of Kashmir have been fooled by the PDP and abandoned in the midst of a storm that has consumed their lives and devastated their future”, the National Conference Working President said.
