CEO visits polling booths, reviews arrangements

Srinagar/April,8: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Shantmanu Saturday visited various polling booths in Srinagar and reviewed the arrangements put in place for conduct of Parliamentary bye-elections for Srinagar seat scheduled for April 09, 2017.
During his visit, the CEO called on the officials to work with coordinated efforts to ensure free, fair and transparent polls. He also interacted with the polling staff deployed at the booths and enquired about the facilities made available to them.
The CEO was informed that the required security arrangements have been put in place and adequate minimum facilities have been provided to the polling staff.
The security officials gave details of the security provided to polling staff at the collection centre, along the route and at the designated polling booths.
The CEO directed all the officials to work in tandem so that people do not face any difficulty in exercising their franchise and polling staff do not face any problems in discharging their duties.
