Srinagar/April,7: Various Sikh organizations in Kashmir have appealed the people to boycott the forth coming by-elections in Srinagar and Anantnag saying that these ‘so-called’ elections cannot be any substitute to their genuine demand of plebiscite.
These Sikh organizations include Sikh Intellectuals Circle J&K, Sikh Students Federation and Sikh Youth of J&K.
Chairman Sikh Intellectuals Circle, Narinder Singh Khalsa in a statement issued here on Friday said “boycott of these farce elections will be the real tribute to our martyrs and all the victims of India brutalities in Kashmir. We are of the firm belief that there can be no peace in the sub-continent unless Kashmir issue is resolved as per wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and India is misleading the world commty by these farce elections under the shadow of gun.”
He disclosed that they have carried out election boycott campaign in both the constituencies and written appeals to Sikh organizations and joint resistance leadership is being distributed. “We are part and parcel of Hurriyat and stand taken by entire Hurriyat leadership is based on reality so we appeal the people of both the constituencies, particularly the Sikh commty to boycott these elections for Kashmir Cause.”
“We strongly condemn the continuous civilian killings particularly the recent killings in Chadoora and large scale arrests and it is our firm belief that killings, brutalities, pellets and bullets can’t suppress the genuine voice of freedom. The peaceful mass protests and uprising against large scale human rights violations, where millions of people have come out on streets obviously reflects that our struggle is indigenous and non-violent that needs serious attention and support of entire world commty,” he said.
