JK SFC inks MoU with United India Insurance Company to sell insurance products

Jammu/April,7: J&K State Financial Corporation Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United India Insurance Company Ltd, a Government of India Undertaking for selling general insurance products, including health products as part of its formal foray into the insurance business.
The MoU was signed by Managing Director J&K State Financial Corporation, Mohammad Farooq Thoker and Vijay Sharma, Chief Regional Manager on behalf of the United India Insurance Company Ltd.
Also present on the occasion were Divisional Manager (Division-I Jammu) M L Verma, Divisional Manager (Division II Jammu) Suresh Gupta and General Manager N.A. Bhat besides other officers of the Corporation.
Pertinently, the corporation has inked this document in furtherance to the decision taken by Finance Minister, DR Haseeb Drabu in recently held 235th Board of Directors meeting.
‘JKHPMC’s apple juice concentrate conforms to FSSR 2011’
Srinagar/April,7: The Department of Horticulture Friday said the apple juice concentrate of the JKHPMC Juice Plant at Doabgah, Sopore has been certified to conform to the Food Safety and Standards Regulation 2011.
“As per the separate analytical reports received from the Food Analyst Kashmir and NABL accredited AVON Food Lab Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, the samples of the apple juice concentrate lifted from JKHPMC Juice Plant at Doabgah, Sopore February last have been found conforming to the FSSR 2011,” a Horticulture Department spokesman said.
He said the samples were sent for testing on the directions of the Chief Minister  Mehbooba Mufti after a legislator raised the issue in the Assembly during the Budget session 2017.
Pertinently, JKHPMC’s 10,000 MT capacity Apple Juice Concentrate Plant at Doabgah, Sopore has been upgraded and modernized with state-of-the art machinery turning it from manual mode to fully automatic.
