Kupwara 07 April: While expressing deep concern over deteriorating disaster management mechanism in J&K, AIP supremo and MLA Langate, Er. Rasheed has alleged that while floods or any other disaster brings devastation for common masses it turns like a golden mine for most of the Govt. officials and blue eyed contractors. After carrying out extensive tour of different areas of district Kupwara Er. Rasheed said “It is high time for Govt., public representatives and planners to revisit their planning procedures and ensure that not only public money does not go to waste but people get dividends of huge and mega projects, which as on date lack proper utility in absence of proper planning and modus of execution. If an authentic probe is ordered in finding out the facts pertaining to various schemes executed or are in operation since last 30 years related to flood control and other disasters, 80% of employees from Jr. Engineers to Chief Engineers and Ministers to Commissioner Secretaries are sure to go behind bars. May the irrigation and Flood Control department, UEED and other related departments explain what is the fun of spending billions and billions of money if continuous rains for even two days gives every Kashmiri sleepless nights and restless days. It gives a lot of pain to reveal the bitter truth that the so called system has been sucking the blood of masses and bureaucrats, politicians and engineers have created huge properties by misusing Public money.  Whatsoever the Govt. and its machinery has been doing since decades is being done with a perception as if they are doing some undue and extra favour to people of state and as if people have no rights and whatsoever they get, is like giving charity to dead bodies” Er. Rasheed asked common masses also to introspect that they cannot be exonerated of their unjustified actions and behaviours for adding to the miseries on account of natural disasters. People not only they create huge illegal assets on the banks of canals and roads but start even chanting Aazadi slogans to avoid demolition of illegal structures and encouragements. He added unless common masses will not take care of their duties their seeking genuine right carries no meaning. He appealed everybody believing in helping people and wishing state prosperity to introspect and change at individual levels before giving sermons to others.
