Kokernag/April 5:  Coming down heavily on National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party Leader and Minister for Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that from Naya Kashmir to Autonomy, NC has always adopted silence after selling Jammu & Kashmir for remaining in power.
Addressing gathering at Larnoo, Kukernag area of Kashmir Valley, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that National Conference have always sold the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir for remaining in power. He said that history is the testimony of all deeds of this Party.

The Minister said the party always befooled the people on one or the another slogan but turned silent after ‘Soda Baazi’ for power. ‘’I want to ask a question from the people representing party with Red Flag that what was the Naya Kashmir proposal of your party and what happened to it’, he said adding that although the proposal was an inspiration from Communist ideology of Russia where the slogan of land to tillers was in vogue, yet he wanted to know the result of this proposal.  He said that it was mooted in 1944 and state was portioned between India and Pakistan in 1947. ‘Was this Naya Kashmir?, Was NC wanted partition in Naya Kashmir’, How they envisioned such type of Kashmir which was distributed among two countries’, Zulfkar asked these questions from National Conference.  He said that the proposal gathered dust in the almirahs after this party get reign in the state.

Terming another slogan of Autonomy as mere slogan, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali asked question from NC people ‘ what happened to Raishumari’. He said that when they were sitting in opposition, they closed chapter of Naya Kashmir and started new tune of Raishumari. He added that they also used to highlight the demand of pre-53 position but people should ask them that who changed the situation after 53. ‘Who signed agreements with New Delhi?’, he added.

Terming autonomy as slogan as mere a political stunt, Chowdhary said that when the party was in power they passed resolution on June 26, 2000 in the Assembly but Government of India rejected it and put in dust bin. ‘What action they took? Nothing!!!!, rather they remain in power and enjoyed it even though their most favorite thing was put in dustbin’, he said adding that they can go upto any extent for remaining  in power and people should not believe on their slogans because they never fulfilled it.

He said that NC is supporting Congress candidates in Anantnag and people should know about these two parties who are two sides of same coin.

The Minister requested the people to support the party which has atleast created an environment to live in the state. He said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had managed to normalize situation in Kashmir and put pressure on forces to end era of terror in Kashmir.  He appealed them that Tassaduq Mufti is also inharing the qualities of Mufti and he is committed for peace and dignity to people so they should vote in his favour.

The Minister was accompanied by Member Legislative Assembly Kukernag Ab Rahim Rather and Member Legislative Assembly Poonch Shah Mohammad Tantry who also appealed public to vote and support Peoples Democratic Party candidate.
