Srinagar/April, 4: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Tuesday said the grievances of the Lal Chowk traders will be redressed on priority. He said it while interacting with representatives of traders of Lal Chowk who called on him here.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Commissioner SMC, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Engineer UEED, General Manager State Bank of India, SP East, Assistant Commissioner, and other concerned were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the representatives appraised the Div Com about various issues confronting the Lal Chowk traders, like defunct drainage, dilapidated roads and footpaths, defunct street lights and parking issues.
The Div Com assured the representatives that all their genuine concerns will be addressed and resolved at the earliest.
He directed the Commissioner SMC to install the suction machinery to clear chocked drains and repair all footpaths in the area within 10 days. He also directed the PDD officials to install LED lights wherever required and replace defunct power distribution lines.
With regard to parking grievances, the Div Com directed the concerned to look into the matter. He also directed the SP East to immediately take action against illegal parkers in the area.
