Samba/April, 3: One day workshop cum training program to deliberate on the concept of horticulture census was organised by Horticulture department, here Monday.
On the occasion Joint Director Horticulture Tarvinder Singh briefed the participants about the importance of census in the overall planning, development and prosperity of the Horticulture sector and directed all the field functionaries to take up Horticulture census on top priority. He also launched a Booklet/Folder on Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).
Chief Horticulture Officer, C. L. Sharma, District Horticulture Officer Kathua S. K. Shair, District Level Subject Matter Specialist (Entomology) Direction Office Anil Kumar Gorkha, District Level Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Pathology) Samba Sarabjit Singh besides all the Horticulture Development Officers and field functionaries of Samba and Kathua districts participated in the workshop.
During the program an an overview of the importance of horticulture census for better utilization of schemes MIDH, PMDP, PMKSY, etc and methodology for conducting Horticulture Census was discussed in detail.
