Srinagar/April,1: The Deputy Election Commissioner of India, Sandeep Saxena, Saturday held an interactive meeting with the representatives of various political parties in connection with forthcoming Parliamentary bye-elections for 2-Srinagar and 3-Anantnag constituencies.
The Deputy Election Commissioner said arrangements are in final stage for the smooth conduct of elections.
Representatives of various political parties interacted with the Deputy Election Commissioner including J&K National Conference, J&K Peoples Democratic Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and J&K National Panthers Party.
The representatives of political parties discussed matters related to Model Code of Conduct, location of polling booths, election expenditure and other issues with Deputy Election Commissioner.
Sandeep Saxena gave a patient hearing to various issues raised by the representatives of political parties and assured them that the concerns would be looked into by ECI.
The Chief Electoral Officer J&K Shantmanu was also present in the meeting.
