Pulwama/ May,6 : Two militants were on Wednesday morning killed in an on going gunfight between Government forces and militants in Shaar Shali village of Khrew area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police official said two militant have been killed but operation is still going on in the area. He said that operation suspended in the night intervening Tuesday and Wednesday resumed Wednesday morning after evacuation of all civilians to safer places.
Earlier an official said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants cordon and search operation was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 50 RR, CRPF and Awantipora Police . “The search operation teams were fired upon by the militants on reaching a sport near their hiding places. The fire was retaliated and in the heavy exchange of fire two militants were killed”, said the official.
