Evacuate stranded Evacute JK’s labourers, students on procedures, patterns implemented elsewhere in India: Hakeem

Srinagar: Expressing serious concerns over the pathetic conditions of people stuck in various states of the country due to Coronavirus lockdown , Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Yaseen a three time former minister has impressed upon the Lieutenant Governor G.C. Marmu to device a viable road map on war footing basis for bringing stranded labourers , shawl vendors , fruit traders and students of the state back to their homes.
In a statement issued on Monday Hakeem Yaseen has described the condition of stranded people of Jammu and Kashmir ,due to Coronaviru lockdown, very miserable adding that the affected people are facing starvation and mental trauma as their earnings have totally exhausted now. He said beginning of holly month of Ramadan has added to their anxieties as they are unable to perform thier religious duties out side thier homes and hearths . He has urged the government to make some kind of exit plan for the stranded labourers , traders and students of the Jammu and Kashmir , on the anology of some other states ,so that the affected people could be evacuated to their homes at the earliest . ” Evacuation of the stranded people was all the more urgent as their absence would badly affect the Rabi season ,which has already started in the valley .
Seeking a special economic package for the farmers and fruit growers of the state , Hakeem Yaseen has said that economy of the Kashmir valley , in particular , have received a serious set back since last two years . He has demanded to waive off KCC loans of the farmers adding that interest on fruit loans should also be exempted .
Hakeem Yaseen while welcoming distribution of free ration , for three months , among the BPL families of the state , has demanded to provide free ration to those poor people also who are not enlisted as BPL category.
Hakeem Yaseen has also urged the state government to appoint it’s Nodal officers in various states of the country to coordinate with the local authorities to identify and contact the stranded students and labourers of Jammu and Kashmir who are stuck in various parts of the country so that adequate measures are taken to bring them back to thier homes.
